My Heart Oasis

Love is the irrational appearance,

Oh, Bliss! inside

A cruel existence of suffering.

Caught between dreams and sleep

I feel my stomach speak.

You appear,

Eyes smiling, easing the world

Of fears and babbling.

There’s a place where you rest within me

To which I freely return

Like an oasis in the sand.

And it’s there I pray

That I may be half as good for you

As you are for me.

For Hannah.
